Meet The Mission Board Chairs
Mission Boards: Collective National Leadership
Mission Barbados operates through a clear and accountable governance framework to ensure national priorities are delivered effectively and transparently.
Each of the six National Missions is overseen by a Mission Board, chaired or co-chaired by a Senior Minister of Government. The Boards bring together public officers, private sector leaders, civil society, academia, and social partners—recognising that complex national challenges require shared leadership and multi-sector solutions.
Mission Boards function as strategic leadership bodies. They do not manage day-to-day operations. Instead, they provide strategic direction, oversight, and constructive challenge to keep each Mission focused on outcomes, collaboration, and accountability.
Delivery Support and Coordination
Mission Boards are supported by the Mission Barbados Control Centre (MBCC), a dedicated unit within the Office of the Head of the Public Service. The MBCC serves as the central delivery engine for Mission Barbados, tracking progress across all Missions and priority areas, supporting Implementation Teams to resolve risks and bottlenecks, providing dashboards and data for evidence-based decision-making, and escalating delivery challenges to senior leadership when required.
