A Message from the Head of the Public Service

Since the Social Partnership signed the Declaration of Mission Barbados in 2023, the commitment and cooperation across sectors have been both encouraging and inspiring. The mission-oriented approach has been embraced across the public service, particularly by our younger officers, whose enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of ownership give me great confidence in the future of Barbados. Their engagement affirms that our public service is evolving in step with the aspirations of our people.

Mission Barbados depends on strong coordination, disciplined execution, and sustained collaboration. The positioning of the Mission Barbados Control Centre and the Public Sector Transformation Unit within the Office of the Head of the Public Service strengthens alignment between policy, delivery, and capacity building, ensuring a clear focus on outcomes that matter most to citizens.

Above all, Mission Barbados represents a shift toward modern, adaptive, and evidence-based governance. I am honoured to work alongside a dedicated team and valued partners as we build a resilient, citizen-centred public service.
